Drug Support and Safe Space
Our Drugs Outreach Project offers these opportunities to people who are homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless. Assistance resolving family disputes and repairing relationships is also on offer.
Increased access to new activities through the project can be a diversion and start an alternative "habit". Time spent with this project is drug free which can be for long periods of the day - this in itself can be a significant achievement for some people and a first step in the right direction.
"Today cheered me up, getting out the hostel. I had a good laugh with all the people that were there"
Visits to the gym, sports such as badminton, group outings such as 10 pin bowling, visits to museums such as the Gallery of Modern Art, Museum of Flight at East Fortune are just some of the opportunities to do things that are different to the normal routine.
"I loved going on Concorde. It was the first time I have ever been on a plane!"
A clean and safe place to stay has a hugely positive effect on us all - especially when we are working hard to change other areas of our lives. Safe Space is a new service we can offer to people who have been through a sustained period of rehabilitation - it provides the opportunity of a secure tenancy and specialist support.
