Edinburgh Refugee Centre

The Edinburgh Refugee Centre closed at the end of June 2008. The number of asylum seekers staying in Edinburgh has reduced significantly over recent months and the demand for our services dropped accordingly. This had an effect on the funding available from our partners for working with refugees and asylum seekers.

Since May 2004 the Edinburgh Refugee Centre worked, in partnership with various specialist and mainstream agencies, to provide high quality services to many hundreds of users; assisting them to access support and helping those with status to integrate into life in Edinburgh.  We are justifiably proud of what we were able to achieve for this vulnerable user group since we opened.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who supported the Refugee Centre.
