Passion and professionalism combined: The essence of Cyrenians is a passion for helping those who are stuck on the margins to overcome their problems and become active and valued members of the community. Everyone involved with Cyrenians really cares, but this is combined with the professional and entrepreneurial skills to make good things happen. We have embedded Cyrenians values into the new Cyrenians Key Worker Practice Model developed with Kinharvie Institute which is fast being recognised as a market leader in effective case work.
Dynamic: We are dynamic and innovative, responding to a changing world but always orientated to our vision of a more socially successful and sustainable society. We have an annual planning cycle and a stock-taking of the changing world and needs around us, which is percolated into our annually up-dated Corporate Strategy. Our Working with Business strategy provides us with additional resources for research and development and we have a steadily flowing pipeline of enterprises, projects and ideas under development.
Strategic: Whilst alert to immediate need and opportunities to help, Cyrenians takes a long-term, big-picture strategic view. Development is based on evidence and learning and we avoid fitting projects around funding, 'reinventing the wheel' or duplication, preferring instead thoughtful planning and smart collaboration across all sectors. Beneath the headlines of the Impact Report is a detailed monitoring and evaluation system. Because the charity aims to deal with social causes as well as the human consequences, we are committed to working with others in 'the big picture', spending time to use our evidence to influence law, policy and strategic change. We have played our part in Scotland having the most progressive Homelessness Strategy in Europe.
Engaging: The deep social issues Cyrenians tackles cannot be solved without winning the hearts and minds of the whole of society. By engaging volunteers and partnerships with community groups and the businesses community in everything we do, we ripple out an understanding of homelessness and its associated issues and generate optimism and enthusiasm for change. In return we receive helping hands, extra brainpower, fresh ideas and energy, critical friendship and financial support.
