Cyrenians Drug & Alcohol Services provide support to people looking to recover from a period of drug & alcohol misuse.
Our Drug and Alcohol Service has been developed as a holistic recovery service, helping up to 100 individuals a year. The service provides key work support to people who have a history of drug and alcohol problems and are homeless or in insecure accommodation.
The definition set by Scottish Government in their "Road to Recovery" document: "Recovery is a process through which an individual is enabled to move from their problem drug and alcohol use towards a drug and alcohol free life and become an active and contributing member of society".
The service supports people who are experiencing difficulties from their harmful use of drugs & alcohol and may be experiencing homelessness or have a housing need. We aim to enable people to move towards a life, away from harmful drug & alcohol use.
Our main aim is to support people to build a life away form substance misuse and to access and maintain safe and secure accommodation. In addition, we can provide. We also aim to increase peoples self esteem, confidence & social capability, as well increasing engagement with educational, training & employment opportunities.
The service can engage with people, no matter where they are living and either support them directly or ensure they are able to access specialist treatment providers.
