PEOPLE WITH POTENTIAL

Access to employment, training and educational opportunities is an essential component in tackling homelessness. Cyrenians has developed a range of opportunities including social activity, volunteering, education, training & work placements to support people to move either into paid employment or move closer to the employment market. People can enter at a point that suits them and develop at their own pace. The People with Potential project (PWP) enables people to overcome barriers and move towards employment. PWP provides; assessment of employability skills, personal planning and liaison with employers to access jobs and practical and emotional support through the tricky transition into a working lifestyle.

In todays climate of job insecurity, rising unemployment and budget restrictions, volunteering is seen as a way of preparing for life in the ever increasingly competitive job market.
PWP support people to access volunteer opportunities in your local area, which enables people to; learn new skills, meet new friends, access training opportunities, give purpose & structure to life and can promote the move into full-time employment.
We also have opportunities for people to access our own volunteer opportunities;
At Cyrenians Farm (West Lothian) volunteers contribute to the planting, nurturing and harvesting of organic produce. Our Good Food (Edinburgh) depot offers the chance to learn stock control skills, administration and food hygiene standards.

Our People with Potential services run in Falkirk and West Lothian, please click on the links for further information.
